Veena-Asif: not batting together
Glib-talker and impersonator par excellence Veena Malik (see her mimic Meera, you’ll believe me) is in denial. I mean she’s denied the news reports that she and the fast bowler accused of a couple of serious wrongdoings, Mohammad Asif, have uttered “qubool hai†three times.
At a recent press conference in Lahore, the actress rubbished the news that she had been seeing the lanky cricketer for long and the couple flew out to London to solemnise their relationship. Veena said if she ever decided to get married, she’d have no qualms in revealing it to all and sundry.
Methinks Veena’s refutation will do more good to Asif than her. The cricketer has been recalled to the national side (30 probable players) for the Champions Trophy tournament to be played in South Africa in September. If there was no denial, Asif would have had another demon to fight, which could have dented his already pockmarked cricketing career. So wise words Veena! She also said she’s single, but didn’t tell us if she’s ready to mingle.
Then there’s another angle to the tale. Babrak Shah is going Kkkkiran on Veena. He wants Veena to tie the knot with her or else he’ll reveal some really khufia baatein on January 1.
Veena is doing a show on a private TV channel, which is more or less in the same category as the one she used to do on another channel and earned her a lot fame. You must hand it to Veena for knowing the worth of ‘timing’ in showbiz.
